6.7.9		 8 12 Due to the specificity of construction projects, their implementation is accompanied by very detailed construction documents from the earliest stage. The requirements are specified by regulations and standards. These documents include not only the relevant consents, permits or confirmations of acceptance by different offices and departments. Individual raw materials and materials are accompanied by certificates and declarations of conformity, safety marks, or hygiene certificates. This ensures widely understood safety for people and the environment. Rules related to approving construction product for marketing are regulated by applicable laws. Apart from the Act of 7 July 1994, i.e. Construction Law, the legal basis for the above is formed by two subsequent laws: the Act of 16 April 2004 on construction products and the Act of 30 August 2002 on the conformance assessment system. Thus their application is obligatory and includes all (100%) contracts. They are also supported by the Integrated Management System, which guarantees usage of correct construction products and materials.

In the case of Budimex SA and Mostostal Kraków, the implementation of ISO 18000 and OHSAS 18000 was confirmed with relevant certificates. A total of 83.2% of all Budimex Group employees were employed in the two above-mentioned companies at the end of 2017.

The Budimex Social Responsibility Strategy for years 2016-2020 was developed on the basis of the aforementioned mission and the following values: Ethics, Cooperation, Responsibility and Ambition. It is directly connected with the business strategy. Based on the assumptions of the CSR strategy and Budimex’s key responsibility areas, eight priorities of the social responsibility were identified. These priorities were assigned to specific actions and key performance indicator (KPI). All goals and indicators of their implementation have set values, which should be achieved within this four-year period.

Since 2011, Budimex has continuously been a part of the RESPECT Index. On 14 December 2017, the Warsaw Stock Exchange announced the new 11th edition and composition of the index, which contained 28 companies. The RESPECT Index is a stock market index which encompasses companies with responsible and sustainable management, listed on the Main Market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. It includes only companies singled out for their highest management standards in terms of corporate governance, information governance, relationships with investors regarding ecological, social and legal areas. Since the first edition in 2009, RESPECT Index increased in value by 85%.

Budimex became a member of FTSE4Good Emerging Index, which constitutes an extension of the FTSE4Good indices and has been created to measure performance of companies in terms of their actions taken for the benefit of the environment, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG). Its scope includes countries operating on Emerging Markets. FTSE4GOOD series are indexes introduced by London Stock Exchange and Financial Times in July 2001. Currently, indexes are calculated for the whole world, selected markets and regions. The selection of companies for participation in indices includes negative selection (excluding companies manufacturing arms and recreational drugs or not abiding by the social equality rules) and positive selection (actions taken for environmental protection, development of positive relations with the surroundings, upholding and development of human rights, anti-corruption activities).
