Construction companies are always close to people. For over 50 years Budimex has been realizing construction contracts in Poland and in the world. It combines a tradition and a modernity, a Polish technical thought of engineers working on numerous investments, drawing on the international experience and know-how of the Ferrovial Group.
Scope of the Budimex Group’s business activity includes:
- implementation of investments in the general contracting system in Poland and abroad,
- property development,
- property management,
- design services,
- trade, production and transport activity.
In the Budimex Group, Budimex SA is the parent company. Since 1995, it has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Since 2011, Budimex has been continuously being a part of the RESPECT Index – the stock index of companies operating according to the highest standards of corporate social responsibility. It includes only the companies that distinguish themselves with the best management standards within the scope of corporate governance, information governance, investor relations, as well as in the ecological, social and employee area.
Since 2017, Budimex has also been included on the list of the London Stock Exchange – FTSE4Good Emerging Index. It constitutes an extension of a FTSE4Good series of indices, intended to measure the company efficiency within the scope of activities for the benefit of environment, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG). The FTSE4Good series covers the indices introduced by London Stock Exchange and Financial Times in July 2001. They include the countries from the Emerging Markets area. Listing of the companies in these indices considers their negative (companies occupying with production of weapons, drugs or not complying with the principles of social equality) and positive selection (activities for the benefit of environmental protection, development of positive relations with environment, maintenance and development of human rights, fight with corruption).
In 2000, the Spanish Ferrovial Group - the world leader in the transport infrastructure, one of the largest construction companies in the world, hiring more than 74 thousand employees in 15 countries, acquired a majority stake in Budimex, thus becoming its strategic investor.
